Beautiful Fall Scenery Around Franklin NC
[ad_1]

Earlier this month, I was up in Franklin NC visiting my cousin, Judy, and I shared her A frame cottage renovation with you then. We also drove around to take in some of the beautiful fall scenery around the Franklin area. We also did a little browsing in the downtown of Franklin and stopped in a couple of thriftstores, so I’ll share those with you later. Today we’ll just enjoy these scenic views of fall around Franklin and I’ll share where these photos were taken. It’s a beautiful area if you’ve never been. North Carolina is one of our most gorgeous states with rivers, streams and those beautiful mountains. Enjoy!

I shared St. John’s Episcopal church with you 5 years ago when I was here, but had to stop in again. You can read more about the church history on that link. Originally built in 1880, the church fell into disrepair and was later rebuilt and opened in 1945. They don’t have the doors open now, so we couldn’t peek inside this time, but there are inside pictures in this post if you want to take a look.

I love how quaint this church is in the serene setting of the mountains.

We also drove to nearby Standing Indian State park campground and took a little stroll into the woods to see a bit of scenery there on the stream.

The leaves were starting to change, but it wasn’t all color yet. Still so pretty though!

Those streams in NC are freezing cold all the time, especially this time of year.

We drove to a waterfall over near Highlands and I got out to take these pics and tried to get as close as I could with my phone camera. So pretty! I dearly love these streams of NC, brings back such good childhood memories of going to the mountains every summer.

My parents dearly loved NC and these mountain streams and views.
